Charity A. - Parent/Wife My husband has raced BMX since he was a teenager and is now 43
yrs. old. He got my daughter involved when she was 7 and now she is actually on a team. It is a
family friendly sport, I've never met a person I didn't like at any of the races. I would recommend
BMX to anyone, it is a fun time and great for the kids!
Jdub - Parent of Racer "I love the sport. When my kids are
on the track any race any day I get so excited I can't hardly contain it. Makes it really hard when
you are the one calling the races and you cant yell for your kid.
Bill H. - Parent/Racer My little one and I have a blast
doing this together
Steve Y. -Racer I got involved with racing BMX to spend more
time with my nephews and some friend who raced. That was in 2006 in Aberdeen. Now I race for the
fun, exercise, friends and showing young kids how to have fun. I was 34 yrs old and over 300 lbs
when I started. Now I am 38 and around 260. I would not trade this for the world. BMX rocks just
like the tattoo I got after my first season with that same saying. I will promote BMX for the rest
of my life. Enough said.
Heather C. - Parent of Racer "I am in it for my kids and the saying goes keeping the
kids on the right track we are from Brainerd MN and plan on moving to Colorado and I promised them
we would move to a town that had a track so we are going to go to Colorado springs!!!"
Josh Bmx - Racer "I am in BMX cause i love biking more than
anything. i also do it for the exercise and to have a great time with friends and family. an u also
get to meet other great racers. i have been racing for 10 years an will keep racing till i cant
peddle a bike anymore. i am from Brainerd MN an i hope we can get more kids involved. thanks family
an friends for the support."
Kevin R. Parent/Track Operator/Racer "I got involved when my
son Dylan asked us to go and try riding BMX... found out there was a track in my home town.
We raced one race and were hooked into racing. We started volunteering a little and now
we volunteer a bit more. Love the sport...Love the people...
Dennis H.– Racer/Parent/Husband "We started riding BMX 5
years ago, now our entire family is into the greatest family fun sports I have ever known, not only
has it created a very common bond and interest that we personally share with each other, we have
also developed an extended family that can not be measured.
Callie P. – Wife of Racer "I love going to watch my hubby
and my friends have a great time riding and racing! It is these boys and girls' passions and so
great to see in action. Awesome atmosphere at the tracks, and lots of wonderful people
too!"
John N. - Racer I can't stop. I tried to stop, honestly, I
just can't stop.
Trudy K – Wife of Racer The racing community is truly an
example of people coming together for a common cause. The tracks operate with the devoted help from
volunteers. The racers are in the sport because of their love for bikes and physical fitness. Fans
are there to cheer everyone on. Anything we can do to give children, of all ages, a passion, is
worth the time and effort.
Scott M. - Parent of Racer A few years ago, 9 to be more
specific, A neighbor introduced my son and me to BMX. He took us to Rehbein's to watch. My son
wanted to do it. I bought a bike from Ramsey Bikes, he started getting better, wanted to be on a
team, and nobody seemed interested in him, so I started a team. The Team was called Chain Reaction
BMX. We grew to 65+ riders, ... See More and I'm sure plenty of people were at the Brainerd
National when Chain Reaction did the parade lap. There were riders from the starting hill to the
finish line. Quite a few of the Chain Reaction riders moved on to bigger and better things. You can
ask almost any rider on Mike's Bike's, and they were most likely a Chain Reaction rider at one
time.
Lance W. - Racer I'm an individual so I dig the whole 1 man and his machine against
another man and his machine, personal power and skill are the only things that will get you a
victory I am competitive, and there wasn't any motocross tracks around where I grew up.
Rick Kast - Racer I raced from 82-86 but kept everything,
summer 01 i moved, after lugging my skyway to the new house in decided to check the internets. Low
and behold i found vbmx, i had just missed rockford so the plan was to race rockford 02, i went and
got a second and third and was hooked all over again. i raced till rockford 03, when i walked away
from racing ... See Moreagain over drama. Last year i was going through a divorce and needed a
diversion. I went to elkhorn march 15th and it turned out it was there triple pointer. I literally
had not touched a bike for almost 6 years and was stoked to get 3rd behind dickerson and franklin,
so i was hooked all over again. It all went well until aug 29 when i wrecked at rum river and mc
himself and dennis and a host of others had to play nurse for the weekend. If i get the farmette i
am dealing on, i don't know how much i will be around this summer but i'll be full time next year
fo sho. BIG thanks to mark for all he does for this sport we love.
